LG G3 set to launch globally on 27th May
With the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One (M8) and Sony Xperia Z2 all out of the way and the iPhone 6 not expected to launch for a while yet all eyes are on LG and its upcoming G3 handset. After the impressive LG G2 big things are expected of it and we now know that we shouldn’t have long to wait.
LG has sent out media invitations to an event on the 27th of May. The company is holding simultaneous events in London, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul, so there’s presumably a big announcement planned.
While it’s not been confirmed that the LG G3 will feature it’s hard to imagine what else the company could be cooking up which would warrant such a large event. But if any evidence was needed, the invitations also include the quote “to be simple is to be great.”
That was famously written by Ralph Waldo Emerson, but more importantly the G of ‘great’ is styled differently to the rest of the quote. Where else have we seen a G? Oh yes, on LG’s G series of handsets. To make things even more obvious the way the G is styled is the same as the G in the marketing for the LG G2.
So yes, it’s a safe bet that the LG G3 is coming at the end of the month. Current rumours suggest that it will have either a quad or octa-core processor, 2 or 3GB of RAM and a 5.5 inch 2K 2560 x 1440 display, giving it an insane pixel density of 534 pixels per inch. It’s also expected to have a 13 megapixel camera and may even have a fingerprint scanner. If that all pans out then LG could be on to a winner.
