Mid Range HTC Desire 610 On Its Way
The HTC Desire 610 is coming soon, in fact it’s expected this month and Three is one of the networks that will be stocking it. In order to build up some pre-launch buzz the company has also released a hands on video showing the phone in action.
So what can you expect from the Desire 610? Well, while no pricing has yet been confirmed it’s a mid-range handset and some initial listings have put it at around £240.
You get quite a lot for your money though, as the video shows. The HTC Desire 610 has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM to keep it ticking along smoothly. There’s 8GB of built in storage alongside a microSD card slot with support for cards of up to 128GB, so its storage is massively expandable. Plus it has an 8 megapixel camera, 4G and NFC.
In other words it’s a well-equipped handset and it doesn’t end there. The Desire 610 is also equipped with the now iconic front-facing HTC BoomSound speakers that are also found on top tier devices like the HTC One M8, so expect the sound quality to be impressive.
It also has a sleek new design setting it apart from the Desire phones of old and we haven’t even talked about the screen, which is generously sized at 4.7 inches and has a resolution of 540 x 960, for a pixel density of 234 pixels per inch.
As if all that wasn’t enough it runs both the latest version of Android and the latest version of HTC Sense and it includes Blinkfeed and Video Highlights, the latter of which essentially combines all your photos and videos into a single slide-show.
The HTC Desire 610 might be plastic and less powerful than a high end phone but it’s packed with the same software and almost as many features, so you don’t have to sacrifice much to save yourself a lot of money. We’ll bring you more on the Desire 610 when it launches but for now it looks very impressive.
