Nokia's Feature Pack 1 first appeared on the Nokia Pureview 808 and has now been made available to download for a number of other Symbian-powered smartphones.
The mobiles in question, which can now benefit from Feature Pack 1 , are the Nokia 700, Nokia 701 and the Nokia 603, which all run Nokia's Belle operating system. 3G recommends that any owners of these smartphones get the update as soon as possible, because it offers some great new features.
Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 is a huge update and one of the major improvements is the addition of support for Dolby Headphone and Dolby Digital Plus which enables amazing surround sound in games and movies !
The update also adds 20 new widgets which you can use to customise your Nokia Belle smartphone even further than before. The exisiting widgets have also been improved making them even more useful.
Now things get wacky because the new Feature Pack 1 update actually increases the processor speed of the Nokia 700 and 701 from 1 GHz to 1.3 Ghz. It's pretty unheard of for software updates to improve the hardware so this is a huge bonus for owners of either mobile.
Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 also adds support for HTML5 leading to faster browsing and support for more web-pages, while you also get a new version of Nokia Maps.
