Nokia City Lens is an application that enables you to explore a city all from your smartphone. The application is an augmented reality browser which can be used to find exactly what is around you using your smartphone's camera.
After selecting what your looking for, for example a restaurant, the camera will turn on and overlay all the relevant locations on your mobile's display. A whole host of information is available including the distant to the location, a star rating and reviews.
Once you then select a location you can view information including being able to call them, view detailed reviews and even share your location on your favourite social networks, via SMS or email. You can also save the searches you've conducted to repeat them in different locations or to quickly view them when your back in the same area.
Augmented reality is one of the biggest growth areas at the moment, along with NFC, and 3G predicts it to become a ubiquitous technology in the next year.
