Apple have released a new version of Apple iOS for the iPhone, iPad and iPod. iOS 5.1.1 is now available to download from iTunes or over-the-air on supported devices.
Apple iOS 5.1.1 is a maintenance update that fixes a number of bugs, but doesn't bring any new features to Apple's operating system. 3G recommends all users update to the operating system to bring improved reliability and performance to their Apple device.
A variety of bug fixes are included in the update with key fixes including fixing a bug that prevented iPad's from switching between 2G and 3G networks. Additionally, an Airplay bug has been patched, while reliability has been improved when using HDR photos on the lock-screen.
Apple have also addressed a bug which led to a "unable to purchase" message being displayed after you'd bought an item from iTunes. Syncing bookmarks and reading lists in Safari have also been made more reliable !
The update can be downloaded right now and comes in at 54MB, so it's probably advisable to use WiFi to save on your data usage. As always you should back up your valuable data and files before installing the update.
