HTC Sensation - A Detailed Look At The Powerhouse Smartphone !

The HTC Sensation is due to launch next week and we thought it was a good time to take a detailed look at the phone's specification.

The first thing to state about the new mobile is it is the first dual-core smartphone launched by HTC. It features a beastly 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU which combines with 768MB of RAM. This puts it right at the cutting edge of smartphone technology !

The power is reflected in the way the new mobile is being branded which is as "a multimedia superphone in the palm of your hands".  The screen is one of the most important aspects in any mutimedia expierence and the Sensation doesn't let you down.

The huge 4.3 inch qHD SLCD touch-screen runs at an amazing 960*540 resolution which is higher than the Samsung Galaxy SII, but is still slightly lower than the iPhone 4's retina display (960*640). However, the bigger screen size should compensate for the slightly lower resolution.

However, if the onboard screen isn't good enough you can use the built-in HDMI output to stream your content to a HD TV. Infact, the mobile can playback 1080p videos which can then be output onto your TV.  Another excellent multi-media feature is support for virtual-surround sound so you can immerse yourself while watching a movie or music.

The Sensation's 8 mega-pixel rear camera can record HD vide and it also features dual LED flash for low light conditions. The front-facing 1.2 mega-pixel camera can be used to make video calls.

The HTC Sensation only has 1GB of onboard memory, which is low in comparison with the iPhone 4 with a minumum of 16GB. However, it does also come with an 8GB microSD card which could be upgraded to 32GB taking the storage level up to that of a mid-range iPhone 4.

Android Gingerbread powers the HTC Sensation meaning it benefits from the latest in mobile operating system technology. It also supports WiFi and 3G , as well as Bluetooth , DNLA streaming and WiFi tethering.

The HTC Sensation is available to pre-order from Vodafone and is free on contracts starting at £35 a month.
