Samsung released the Gingerbread update for the Galaxy S (pictured above) last month, but shortly after it was released it was taken down by Google due to problems with the update.
Samsung have now confirmed that Gingerbread (2.3) will be re-released for the Samsung Galaxy S over the next couple of weeks. The update will also be available for the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy Ace.
The new update brings the device right up to date and brings a number of improvements including improved 3D graphics support, an overall performance boost, the ability to manage multiple cameras and improvements to the user-interface. Another neat addition is a new and improved on-screen keyboard with copy and paste built-in.
Like with all operating system updates you'll have to wait for the operators to release their custom versions of Gingerbread for your device. Once we at 3G hear more about individual operators rolling out the update we'll let you know.
