Over 65K Android Mobile Phones Sell Per Day
![]() |
On You Tube yesterday, Eric Schmidt (Google CEO ) confirmed that at least 65,000 mobile phones are being sold per day having Google Android as their operating system. He also confirmed that Google Android phones were available in 50 countries worldwide via a total of 33 mobile devices.
It was only this week that NPD Group confirmed that Google Android was above Apple for Number 2 position for the first quarter of 2010 in the US. The number two position was for the volume of mobile phones sold per operating system. RIM ( Blackberry ) remained at number one.
In fact, if you calculate these figures for a month at 65K per day then this translates into over 2 million mobile devices powered by Google Android per month. You can check out our earlier article - Android Hits Number 2 in U.S. Smartphone Market here.
