Nokia is running a promotion across the UK to try and promote its Ovi Maps service.

 

They will be sponsoring taxis across the UK and if you manage to flag one down you’ll get your journey paid for you. This promotion is running in Manchester, London, Birmingham and Glasgow so keep your eyes open.

 

The taxis then contain a Nokia X6 , which is pre-loaded with Ovi Maps, for customers to try when they are inside the taxi.

 

It’s a novel idea from Nokia and one that can only end in positive press.

 

Additionally, Nokia are running a competition on Twitter where they are giving away 5 Nokia X6 handsets every day. All you have to do to enter is to tweet #NokiaFreeSatNav.
