Last week we brought you news about the imminent launch on Android 2.2.

Since then Google have officialy confirmed the existence of Android 2.2 and confirmed the many benefits it brings.

One such update is that the web browser will now be 2 or 3 times faster than the previous version, mainly due to improvements in how Javascript is dealt with.

A new addition to the operating system is the capability to make your mobile a “Portable Hotspot” , this enables other devices to connect to the internet through your Android mobile.

A new memory saving feature has also been added. You can now transfer your applications to your microSD card to preserve your mobiles memory. We think this is a nice idea and is one that might be used by a few fair people.

Application speed has also been improved by 2 or 5 times, due to a new Just In Time compiler.  Additionally, you can now backup and restore in-app data meaning you can easily switch from one app to another without losing your results, high-scores and settings.

You can also now easily communicate from your desktop to your mobile, on the video above it shows you planning a route on your PC on Google Maps and then send it your mobile.

Google also added new Enterprise features so Businesses can now use Exchange Auto-Discover, New Security Features and Device Admin for remote wiping.

Android 2.2 (Froyo) will launch before the end of 2010 and once we get an official launch date we’ll be sure to let you know.
