Acer Stream

The release of Android smartphones has really rallied lately and now another breaks cover. This time it’s the Acer Stream. We did not see this one coming.

We here at 3G.co.uk are currently reviewing the Acer beTouch E110 running on Windows Mobile and the Acer neoTouch P300 running on Android. Looks like we better get cracking with our Acer Streamnext. review

Acer have ventured to class the Acer Stream as a “mobile entertainment machine” which looks a tad ambitious to 3G. The specification details currently available seem to look like most Android smartphones being released at the current time and are :

  1. HTC Sense style User Interface ( above Android OS )
  2. 3.7 Inch AMOLED display with a 2000:1 contrast ratio
  3. Android 2.1 ( éclair )
  4. Qualcomm SnapDragon 1GHz processor plus 512MB of RAM
  5. 5 megapixel camera plus 720p HD video recording ability
  6. Mini HDMI port to link to HDTV
  7. 8GB MicroSD card ( supports up to 32GB )
  8. FM Radio and GPS

The HTC Sense style User Interface which is additional software working as an interface between user and the Android OS on the Acer Stream is reported to let you change between photos and video in a 3D interface for gaming purposes. More on that once we understand it.

Currently there is no news on a UK release date nor pricing but as soon as we know we will post it here on 3G.co.uk
