Europe UK : Mobestar, the mobile community and content specialist, has announced the world's first inter-country anonymous mobile video call. The first anonymous mobile video call supported by Mobestar's Flexible Anonymous Communications Engine (FACE) took place today between Germany and the UK.

Anonymous video calls over 3G have been technically and legally challenging, preventing web communities from extending their online operations into an increasingly profitable mobile video arena. Due to the nature of European mobile networks, caller anonymity could not be ensured when making mobile-to-mobile video calls.

Mobestar has overcome these technical obstacles with its FACE technology. Using FACE, all live calling between members of a mobile community is conducted in a totally secure and anonymous environment to provide members with total peace of mind - an essential requirement for services such as mobile dating. FACE is available for existing 2G and 3G networks and is accessible through any compatible mobile phone, whenever a member wishes to use the service.

The European online dating market is currently worth EUR200 million and is forecast to grow 43 per cent this year(1). Europe is expected to follow Japan's footsteps, where mobile dating is becoming more popular than online dating, now that a system allowing anonymous mobile video calling has arrived in the market.

Mobestar believes that FACE will offer the most immediate value to the online dating brands and large online communities, in terms of increasing numbers of subscribers and average revenue per user.
