Three have confirmed that they've now transferred all of their 8 million customers onto a 4G tariff. That means they can now all access '4G at no extra cost', assuming they are in an area with 4G coverage and have a 4G ready device.

Three's CEO David Dyson said: “Everything has been enabled to give customers a simple and seamless transition to the new technology once they have a 4G device.”

The operator also added that they've currently got 1.8 million customers across the UK with a 4G ready device, but it's unclear what proportion of them are currently already accessing the 4G network.

Three are currently busy rolling out 4G across the UK, but some areas of the UK won't get access to their superfast 4G network until 2015. You can check Three 4G coverage in your area here - if you are out of luck then you can check whether Three 4G is coming to your area in 2014 here.

The best thing about Three 4G is that it doesn't cost any extra and they are also the only operator offering unlimited 4G data, so you can browse to your heart's content with no fears of going over your allowance.
