Twitter look set to launch Twitter Music on Apple iOS devices in the coming weeks. The music discovery service will recommend tracks based on a users Twitter activity.
Over last year Twitter have been working on removing their reliance on third-party applications mainly inspired by their on-going battle with Facebook. Late last year Twitter added their own image filters which removed their reliance on the Facebook-owned Instagram service.
New rumours suggest that Twitter are going to launch their own music-identification service called Twitter Music. If the rumours prove correct then Twitter Music will go head-to-head with established music-services such as Spotify and Pandora.
While, both Youtube (Youtube Music) and Apple (iRadio) are thought to be launching music-streaming services in the coming months. Fierce competition looks set to ensure in what has become a huge growth area.
Twitter Music - Music Discovery Application
Twitter music is though to be launching on Apple iOS devices in the next couple of weeks according to rumours being reported by CNET. Apparently , Twitter acquired "We Are Hunted" who make a music discovery service , which will now be re-branded and launched as Twitter Music.
The service will provide music recommendations based on users Twitter activity, as well as trends over the whole music service.
Apparently, Twitter Music will feature 4 tabs all-offering music recommendations based on different criteria. Music will be suggested based on a users Twitter activity, what their friends are listening to, the most popular music and the freshest new music.
