Samsung Galaxy S4 - Five Reasons To Upgrade

Galaxy S4 v Galaxy S3

Samsung's Galaxy S4 was recently unveiled and is a stunning next-gen Android smartphone. But is it worth upgrading if you already own the Galaxy S3 ?

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S4 earlier this month at a spectacular Unpacked event in New York. The next-gen smartphone has a stunning specification and a number of new features. However, many owners of the Galaxy S3 will be wondering whether it's worth upgrading to the Galaxy S4.

We document 5 major reasons why you should upgrade to the Galaxy S4 !

1. Next-Gen Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a stunning next-gen specification meaning that it blows away the Galaxy S3 when it comes to performance. Recent benchmarks show that it more than doubles the performance of the previous version thanks to its 1.9 Ghz Qualcomm processor , Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

Therefore, those looking to play high-end games and watch HD movies should definitely upgrade to the Galaxy S4 . EA recently announced that 16 optimised-games will be ready for the S4's launch next month.

2. Stunning 5 inch Full HD Display

The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with a stunning 5 inch Super AMOLED touch-screen that runs at a full HD resolution (1920*1080 pixels). This gives the smartphone an incredible 441 ppi (pixels-per-inch) and enables it to playback 1080p video and makes browsing will be a true joy.

Samsung's Galaxy S3 has a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED touch-screen running at a resolution of 1280*720 pixels (306 ppi). This is still a great display, but it's clarity doesn't even come close to the Galaxy S4's display.

3. All New Design

One of the major criticisms aimed at the Galaxy S3 was that it's plasticky design looked and felt cheap. Even though the Galaxy S4 includes a similar polycarbonate case it does include an all-new design !

Galaxy S4 Black

The chrome-sides give the smartphone a more premium appearance, while the new Black colour is sure to prove hugely popular and looks more stylish than the Pebble-Blue Galaxy S3.  Amazingly the Galaxy S4 is also thinner than the previous model by 1mm.

4. Eye Tracking Technology & Air Gestures

The major software innovation in the Galaxy S4 is the "Eye-Tracking" technology. That includes "Smart Scroll" which automatically scrolls down a web-page by tracking your eye movement, while "Smart Pause" pauses video playback when you look away from the display.

Air Gestures is another new feature that enables you to browse menus by hovering your finger over the Galaxy S4's display. This stops your stunning display getting covered in annoying fingerprints. James Bond would be proud of the new features and they are one of the major advantages the Galaxy S4 has over its predecessor.

5. Stunning Snapper

The Galaxy S4 comes with a stunning 13 mega-pixel camera which is capable of recording HDR video. This is a significant improvement on the Galaxy S3's 8 mega-pixel snapper and is another reason to upgrade !

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be land in the UK on April 26th and pre-orders will open later this week  on Three. Click here to visit the Three store.
