HTC One Delayed - Delivery date confirmed

HTC has confirmed that its flagship HTC One smartphone has been delayed by a number of weeks.

This is a great pity as the new Samsung Galaxy S4 goes to pre-order before the end of March and we think HTC has lost the initial head-start it had over the S4.

HTC Delay - HTC confirm it

We first heard of a delay to the HTC One last week as retailers were advised that stock of the HTC One, which was scheduled to be shipped to them on the 15th March, to fulfill pre-orders, had been delayed to late March.

HTC themselves have now confirmed that retailers will definitely have stock before the end of March to begin fulfilling pre-orders. The delivery of its main stock is scheduled to arrive in stores shortly after.

3G has pitted the HTC One v Nokia Lumia 920 and also the HTC One v Apple iPhone 5 and in both comparisons the HTC One came out on top. There is no doubt this is a "cracking" flagship smartphone, and we still see the HTC One selling well, but we see the Samsung Galaxy S4 taking  a huge number of sales away from the HTC One as a result of this delay.

HTC has identified the cause of the delay as an issue with component sourcing of a camera component. HTC is obviously confident that the problem in the supply chain has been resolved, as they have confirmed the above delivery timescales.

3G is currently writing our HTC One Review and it should be posted today. Come back to checkout exactly what we think of it.
