Asus Transformer Pad TF300

Asus's Transformer Pad TF300 launched back in May of last year and is a tablet that can effectively turn into a laptop.  The tablet is the most affordable in Asus's Transformer Pad and we gave it glowing review awarding the Transformer Pad TF300 4.5 stars (out of 5).

In July of last year we reported that Asus had released Android Jelly Bean (4.1) for the Transformer Pad TF300. Now the manufacturer have announced that they've begun rolling out Android 4.2 for their tablet.

Initially, the latest version of Android will be rolled out in the States before spreading to Europe over the next couple of weeks. We don't have an exact roll-out date for the updated in the UK, but as soon as 3G hear more we'll let you know.

What new features does Android 4.2 bring to Asus's Transformer Pad TF300 ?

The biggest new feature brought by Android 4.2 is the addition of support for multiple users. Each user can login in separately and have their own dedicated home-screen, wallpaper, applications and games.

Android 4.2 also adds support for actions inside the notification bar and brings a new "Daydream" feature which displays useful information on a devices display when docked. The overall performance and stability of Google's operating system has also been improved, while a whole of applications have been improved.

You can read all about Android 4.2 in our guide to the operating system here.

How will I know when Android 4.2 is available for my Transformer Pad TF300 ?

The update is due to be released in the UK in the next couple of weeks and when it becomes available you should receive automatic notification over-the-air. However, you can also manually check for its availability by entering the tablets settings menu.

As soon as we 3G get news of the updates availability you'll be the first to know !
