HTC Micro Arc Oxidation Smartphone Casing !

By Simon Thomas on 16th March 2012

HTC have released the video above outlining their new Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO) process which is used to make super durable premium smartphone casing for their smartphones.

The process starts with "Aircraft 6000 Aluminium", which is then hit with 10,000 volts of electricity. This turns the metal into a ceramic surface that makes the metal up to five stronger than aerospace aluminum and stronger than stainless steel.

The MAO process is used by NASA for satellites and will be featured on the upcoming HTC One S smartphone , which can read all about by clicking here.
