The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is now available to pre-order from the Vodafone online store.

The new mobile, which was known as the Playstation mobile, is available free on contracts starting at just £35 a month.  The £35 tariff gets you 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of mobile data.

You could also choose a lower tariff of £25 a month and pay £99 upfront for the mobile , but you'd then only get 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of mobile data.

Additionally, if you pre-order the mobile before the 1st April you get a free Deckstand which can turn your mobile into a  alarm clock and can charge your mobile. The Xperia Play also comes pre-loaded with 6 games including Crash Bandicoot, Fifa 10 and the Sims 3.

The new mobile is the first to be certified with the Playstation name and comes with a sliding game-pad that has a d-pad, 4 face buttons, 2 shoulder buttons and  two analogue touch-pads.

The Xperia Play has a 4 inch touch-screen running at a resolution of 480*854 pixels , a 5.1 mega-pixel camera and is powered by a 1 GHz mobile processor in combination with an Adreno GPU graphics processor.

The Xperia Play will begin shipping on the 31st March !
