RIM Aquires Mobile Developer tinyHippos

Research In Motion (RIM) have announced they have bought mobile developer tinyHippos.
RIM, who make Blackberry mobiles, have bought the company because of its work on a mobile emulator called Ripple. The emulator enables applications to be ported from other mobile platforms.
This announcement no doubt ties in with the one earlier this week when RIM announced that the Blackberry Playbook would support Android applications.
RIM are obviously very keen to enable their devices to run applications from other mobile operating systems and we'd expect to see them invest heavily in this area over the year.
