The Android operating system has proven to feature 50 per cent faster internet browsing than the Apple's iOS.
A study conducted by Blaze.io tested over 45,000 web-pages on both Android and Apple's iOS and found that on average Android was 52 per cent faster than Apple's iOS. In adddition the Android operating system was found to load pages faster 84 per cent of the time.
Both operating systems feature different browsers with Android using the Google Chrome browser and Apple's iOS using the Safari browser. The latest versions of each OS were used with Android 2.3 and iOS 4.3 being compared. The two mobiles used were the iPhone 4 and the Google Nexus S.
It would be interesting to have a comprehensive study done across all mobile operating systems to see the relative browser speed. We also suggest that it not only depends on the browser itself, but how well the WiFi works on the device and other factors such as network optimization and resolution rendered.
