By Miles J Thomas on 08th March, 2010 under Symbian
The official release of Skype for Symbian Nokia mobile phones was announced on 16th February this year and the full details can be found here Symbian Gets Skype.
Now, Skype has put together an introductory demo which can be seen above. This is a full version of Skype for Symbian which is used on the majority of Nokia smartphones. You can download Skype for Symbian via SMS (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/symbian/ ) or via skype.com/m from your phone.
In the Skype for Symbian demo Mark from Skype Mobile shows how you can call or IM any of your contacts with Skype for Symbian. In addition you can send files over Skype such as photos or videos with no file limit.
Of course it’s totally free to use Skype over a public Wi-Fi network. If using 3G its best to get an unlimited data plan from the 3G operator to take full advantage of keeping Skype totally free and avoid unnecessary data costs from your 3G operator.
