Nokia Report Suggests Global Phone Sales Have Increased

A new report has revealed that Nokia has a 34 per cent share in the global mobile phone market.
Amazingly, this is a reduction in the last report when they had 38 per cent. However, the market size on a whole has increased with Nokia now calculating that there are 1.26 billion handsets in the world.
The report which was filed with the US Securities and Exchange commission has now been updated to include unlicensed and counterfeit handsets, which means the figures score have changed since the last report.
Nokia are hoping to improve their market share further and ship even more mobiles over the next year with the additions of the Nokia N900, Nokia E72 and its New X-series mobiles.
One thing that should be noted from the report is how the mobile phone market has been affected only minimally by the “global recession” as the total phone sales have increased.
