'Cannons Tournament' 3G Game on 3 UK

Europe : Macrospace, the acclaimed European studio of mobile entertainment publisher Sorrent, Inc., and 3, the UK's first video mobile network, today announced that they will launch the leading mobile multiplayer game, 'Cannons Tournament', on the 3 video mobile network.

Cannons Tournament is the UK's first mass-market downloadable mobile game to let up to four gamers to play each other simultaneously over 3G mobile networks.

Macrospace launches Cannons Tournament as part of its line-up of new multiplayer titles available to 3's UK customers. As well as using your keypad to move, aim and fire, Cannons Tournament offers a raft of weapons and power-ups to boost your points and the added challenge of dynamic weather conditions like gusting wind and snow to affect your trajectory.

If you think you have what it takes to beat the best, you can challenge up to three other gamers anywhere in the world, on any network, to a battle.

Launching the game automatically connects you to other real players that are currently online, and you can search for friends to play via nicknames, or just randomly select an opponent to play.

Take it in turns to execute your battle plan. Players see each others' moves on-screen with only a few seconds delay, giving you time to plot your next move or, if you are feeling confident, send taunts to the other players to put them off. Finally, when you have finished your game, see how you rate against the top tank commanders on the new daily, monthly and all-time high score tables.

"Being part of the launch of multiplayer games on 3 is an exciting
opportunity, as 3G networks are ideally suited to the dynamics and technical requirements of multiplayer games," said Kristian Segerstrale, VP of Production at the Macrospace Studio. "Cannons Tournament continues to win fans all around the world with its simple but compelling gameplay, and we look forward to working with 3 to launch more great multiplayer games in the near future."

Graeme Oxby, Marketing Director, 3: "As the success of our music service demonstrates with over 10 million downloads in 6 months, 3 has learnt how to package and deliver compelling products over 3G. In Gaming, we are doing the same thing - picking the right games for 3G and delivering services that are immediate, fun and accessible at affordable prices."

Cannons Tournament is available on the A835, C975, V975, A925, A1000 and E1000 handsets from Motorola, the LG8110, 8120, 8130 and 8138, the Nokia 7600 and the NEC616, 338, 313 and 228.

Games on 3
3 is the only UK operator to offer customers the choice of buying and
renting games. With the RENT option customers pay 25p per play, or 50p for up to three days of play on a game, this offer which is unique to 3 is proving popular with customers who want to sample a game before buying it.

With the BUY option customers make a one off payment, of between £3 and £7.50 and then have continuous use of the game on their video mobile. The near console quality games that are initially only available on certain models of handset cost £7.50.
