Performance Guarantee For 3G UMTS Load Testing

19th March 2003

Catapult Communications announced that the Company will provide performance guarantees with selected configurations of the DCT2000 Test System. The
performance guaranteed DCT2000 Iub-CS Load Test System includes all of the hardware and software needed to model a large number of connections across the Circuit Switch Iub interface. A range of performance guarantees and system prices are available.

The DCT2000 Iub-CS Load Test System is guaranteed to provide the rated performance when run in "loop-back" mode between two similar DCT2000 systems, one executing Catapult-developed Node B (and UE) scripts, the other executing Catapult-developed RNC "anti-scripts". The detailed
call flows and scripts are provided to the user so that they can be
adapted to meet specific test plan objectives for actual UMTS network
equipment. In addition, the Node B and RNC scripts can help the
developers avoid the more common development traps and get a running
start on their test development.

"As more and more users access 3G networks, it becomes increasingly
important that those networks can handle the increased load. We are
pleased to be able to offer a quantitative performance guarantee for
DCT2000 testing within the Iub-CS test environment," said Dave Mayfield,
Catapult President and COO. "Being able to offer performance guarantees
is another measure of Catapult's leadership position in 3G telecom
testing."
