| UbiNetics Showcases World's First 3G Network ``Stress Tester'' |
|
18th March 2003 |
|
3G technology company UbiNetics will launch its LG200 Load Generator technology to the US market at CTIA Wireless in New Orleans. The LG200 is the world's first 3G network "stress tester." It brings real-world interface conditions into the lab. UbiNetics developed the system in response to demand from both infrastructure vendors and network operators as they ready their networks for commercial launch. The system will enable UbiNetics' customers to test the ability of multi-mode networks (3G/GPRS/GSM) to support large call volumes and phone users' mobility. LG200 can also be used by operators throughout the life of the network, from initial testing, interoperability and regression testing, through to network optimization. The testing system builds on UbiNetics' established WCDMA protocol software solutions for handset design to include GSM and GPRS capabilities. It provides complete control over signaling, air interface and user plane loads, as well as enabling functionality, regressions, interoperability, capacity and QoS testing. Other demonstrations at the show include: UbiNetics' 3G Test Mobile, which has become the industry de-facto standard for WCDMA infrastructure testing, will be on display demonstrating its 2Mbps downlink capabilities. Multi-mode solutions Building on its track record for WCDMA protocol software supply, UbiNetics will illustrate its ability to supply GSM/GPRS protocol software for handset designs. Working with partners, like National Semiconductor Corp. and PrairieComm, UbiNetics provides integrated terminal solutions that meet the increasing demand for 3G handsets. GM404 and 405 GSM/GPRS modules UbiNetics' GM404 and 405 GSM/GPRS modules will make their U.S. debut at the booth. Working in conjunction with BSQUARE, the modules will be integrated into its Maui PDA. "The products on show this year reflect the way the market is moving. Operators are not only interested in identifying where problems exist with next-generation networks and ironing these out, but also investing in mobile technology that can be used in the long-term," said Bjorn Krylander, CEO of UbiNetics. Load
Generator will be available from Q2 2003 onwards and will feature at
UbiNetics' booth (#3275) at CTIA Wireless from March 17-19, 2003. If
you would like to set up an interview at the booth with a UbiNetics
executive, call Adelle Foster at 619/516-2559 or 619/962-1899 at the
show. |
