By Simon Thomas on 11th June 2012

Samsung have now begun rolling out Android Ice Cream Sandwich for the Samsung Galaxy Note.

Owners of the hybrid device, of which there are now seven million worldwide, can download the update right now but only if they have  a SIM-free version. Those with the smartphone locked on specific networks will have to wait that bit longer !

The update to Android 4.0 brings a vast number of improvements to the Galaxy Note including a totally re-designed user-interface. Other noticeable additions include support for Face Unlocking, Visual Voice and the NFC feature Beam.

Additionally, Galaxy Note owners will get a pack of "premium" applications included with the update. One of these premium applications is "S Story", which is a card making application while you also get "S Note" which is an advanced note-taking application.

All the Angry Bird fiends will be pleased to hear that Galaxy Note owners will get exclusive Angry Birds Space content as part of the update.

The Android 4.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note is available to download using Samsung Kies with the update itself coming in at 320MB. As always 3G recommends you backup your data and files before updating !

The Samsung Galaxy Note is available on some great deals on Three where its available on contracts starting at just £27 a month. You can view all of Three's Galaxy Note deals by clicking here.
