Google Drive Now Available For iPhone and iPad

Google Drive

Google have announced that Google Drive is now available to download on iPad and iPhone.

Google Drive is Google's cloud-based storage solution which has been available on Android for sometime. The service offers smartphone and tablet owners 5GB of free storage space to backup their files.

Now iPhone and iPad users can backup their photos, music and mobile settings on Google's servers. The advantage of doing this is twofold because you don't lose your files if your device is lost or stolen, while at the same time you save your space on your device.

On Android users can backup and edit Google Docs on Google Drive, but sadly at this time this feature is unavailable on the iOS version. As soon as it becomes available we'll be very interested in downloading the application , but currently it doesn't offer anything that isn't available elsewhere.

Many other cloud-based storage solutions are available on the iPhone including Apple's own iCloud, Amazon's Cloud and Dropbox. If you get a free account on all of them you should have more than enough to store all your photos, videos and files.

You can download Google Drive on all devices running on iOS 5.0 or later by clicking here.
