Android and Nokia Smartphone Users To Get A R Drone Helicopter
![]() |
You may already have heard of the A R Drone helicopter which can be controlled by an iPhone but news has now broken that owners of Symbian, Android and Samsung Bada smartphones can soon join the helicopter flight crew.
The Parrot A R Drone helicopter costs around £240 and has been a big hit with iPhone owners and is operated by tilting your smartphone to the left or right to change the helicopters direction.
If you want to see how your flight looks from the helicopter, no problem, there is an on-board camera for you to see exactly where your copter is heading.
In addition, you can download some games to your smartphone which lets you have dogfights in the air which are overlaid on your screen as your view of the background remains.
Parrot said recently that the A R Drone helicopter on Android will be ready in July, with Symbian and Samsung Bada later in the year. Interestingly, there was no mention of Windows Phone 7.
