A new Twitter App has been released for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. This was released on 22nd June and of course is free. You need iOS 3 or later to update.
The iPhone 4 is causing a storm and Twitter got on the case virtually immediately. The result is a new Twitter App for the iPhone at version 3.0.1 which focuses on compatibility with the iPhone 4 operating system ( iOS 4 ). It comes with added support and tweaks to iOS 4.
Twitter App for the iPhone now includes support for the iPhone 4 ’s Retina display which means that things will look more focused and have a higher definition as viewed on the screen.
iOS 4 lets you send Tweets in the background and multitasking will be possible whilst monitoring incoming Tweets. Tweets and posting of videos / photos become more secure as Oauth is used to secure all communications. There is also a bug fix for the problem of “Top Tweets” sticking.
Twitter has been quick off the mark here and look out for an avalanche of App udates over the next few months as everyone makes sure their App is sitting pretty on the new iPhone 4.
