Android Froyo (2.2) is the latest version of the Google Android Operating system and will be launching on a large number of mobiles over the coming months. The only mobile to currently run Froyo is Googles' own Nexus One mobile.
However, that's due to change because HTC engineers told the guys over at the Android Community that they are working hard to get the HTC Sense interface upgraded to work with Android Froyo. They said they expect Android Froyo to launch on selected HTC Handsets in the 3rd Quarter of 2010.
The mobiles that will feature Android Froyo include the HTC Desire, HTC Legend and HTC Wildfire, which are 3 of the latest releases from the Taiwanese manufacturer.
Android 2.2 brings a number of benefits including being 2 or 3 times faster, the ability to turn your phone into a personal-WiFi network, the ability to transfer applications to a memory card and much more.
