News is breaking via Apple that they have sold over 3 million Apple iPads within 3 months of its launch. The Apple iPad launched in the US less than 3 months ago and in the UK about a month ago.

Apple’s Steve Jobs says that “people love the Apple iPad” but we wonder how long such great sales can last with a device which has its limitations as detailed in our review but its saving grace is that its an “object of desire. 

Looking at the sales to-date its worth mentioning that Apple is adding distribution to other countries over the coming months which can only add to a further sales uplift.  Another key factor with regard to growth is that there are now over 10,000 Apps developed for the Apple iPad and over 200K Apps that will work on the iPad.
