Sky Player Launches On iPad

The iPad launch in the UK took place last Friday and went very well with enough stock to easily cover demand.
In time for the launch Sky had released its Sky Player software so you can watch Sky TV on your brand new iPad.
It works by using your iPads internet connection (3G or WiFi) to stream the service onto your iPad screen. The content that is featured includes all Sky News channels and Sky Sports channels.
However, the reaction from iPad users has been one of anger because Sky has put a £35 a month charge on the application to non-Sky TV subscribers. The situation is slightly better for Sky TV subscribers who will only have to pay £6 a month and will also get 3 months free to begin with.
The iPad version of the Sky player is an upgraded version of the one for iPhone. It now runs at a higher bitrate meaning you can higher quality video.
You can download the Sky Player application for iPad from the Apple Store right now.
