With internet tablets seemingly the latest worldwide crazy Samsung is the latest company to release details of of an iPad rival called the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab, which is an internet tablet, will feature a 7 inch screen that is likely to be AMOLED.

Rumour suggests it’s likely to be powered by the Android operating system, which the most recent 2.1 version being the most likely to feature.

The picture that was posted on the South African Samsung Twitter page also suggests the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be able to make phone calls, which is something the iPad can’t do.

It also seems to feature a similar home-screen to a mobile phone with quick shortcuts to the most frequently used functions. Very few other details are known apart from that it will have a front-facing camera and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
