Nokia has announced two new additions to its X-series of mobiles at the Nokia Connection event, which is taking place in Singapore.
The Nokia X5 is a new mobile that lies between the Nokia X3 and the Nokia X6 and has a unique appearance.
The Nokia X5 is a square-shaped mobile that, like all X-series mobiles, aims to provide excellent music playback. The X5 has excellent sound quality, dedicated music controls, speakers and in certain regions will be a “Comes With Music” device.
However, it offers more than just music and has a full sliding QWERTY keyboard which can be used with the in-built instant messaging, webmail services and easy access social networks.
The Nokia X5 also has a 5 mega-pixel camera which has a 4* digital zoom and LED Flash. The music mobile comes with 200MB of onboard memory and also ships with a 2GB microSD card, which can be upgraded to a maximum of 32GB.
A couple of new unique features are present which include the ability to spin the mobile to shuffle tracks and to shake it in order to view your unread messages.
The Nokia X5 is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2010 and will cost around 165 Euros (£130).
The second mobile to be announced is an 8GB version of the Nokia X6, which now sits alongside 16 and 32GB versions. This will come in at around 225 Euros and will also launch in the 3rd Quarter of 2010.
