Nokia Has Only Sold 100,000 N900s

The Nokia N900 launched in Novemberlast year and since then they’ve only sold 100,000 units. This would equate to around 15K per month.
Perhaps the reason for the low sales is that the Nokia N900 is quite large, very technical and runs on the unfamiliar Maemo platform. Additionally, as far as most users go it doesn’t offer anything an Apple iPhone can’t and is much less fashionable.
When you consider that Nokia class the N900 as the top phone in its range it can’t be a good sign for the future of both “business smartphones” and the Maemo platform.
If you think back a couple of years Nokia had the market under control with the all conquering Nokia N95, but now they seem to really struggle against the iPhone and HTC smartphones.
