Nokia Bicycle Charger for Mobile Phones
![]() |
Nokia has unveiled a mobile phone charger for bicycles which helps the environment at the same time. The bicycle needs to be fitted with a dynamo ( like the ones that power bicycle lights ) and then is ready to go.
The downside is that you have to pad al at least 6 miles an hour for the charger to supply enough power to charge your Nokia mobile phone. You can see how it works in the photo above. The dynamo can be seen touching the tyre. We worked out that 10 minutes of pedaling at around 7 miles an hour will give you a battery uplift of 30 minutes talktime. We are not sure what happens if you have a flat battery though and try to pedal charge it.
Your beloved Nokia mobile is held in the supplied support cradle which can also be seen in the photo. Of course, if you like the idea of free battery power then what about free by cycle navigation as well via Ovi Maps – guess that’s BikeNav.
We here at 3G.co.uk could not source the availability date but pricing for the Nokia Bicycle Charger for Mobile Phones is set at 15 Euros.
