Europe UK : 3UK, the mobile media company, has been given top honours for the X-Series at the Mobile Awards. 3 beat off stiff competition to scoop the Consumer Innovation Award. The accolade recognises 3’s innovative initiatives which have seen 3.75 million customers receiving cutting edge mobile broadband services as part of the X-SeriesLaunched in November 2006, the X-Series has brought a range of innovative applications and services to customers for the first time, all with a flat rate pricing tariff. Services such as Yahoo!, Windows Live Messenger, e-Bay and Google, as well as mobile Skype, Slingbox and Orb access, which have proved hugely popular.
In addition, Jonathan Sandford, manager of 3’s Merryhill store, has won Mobile Magazine’s Shop Idol competition in recognition of his outstanding customer service.
3 has also been recognised for its mobile social networking product MOKO which took the Best Mobile Community and User Generated Content award at last week's MEFFYs. This award marked out companies that created a genuinely engaging and interactive consumer experience, whilst maintaining proven commercial success. Peter Northing, Director of Products and Services, 3UK, said: ‘At 3 we are constantly pushing the boundaries of mobile content, giving our customers the freedom to access the most popular services whenever and wherever they want. We are honored to have this hard work recognized by both these awards.’
