Inset shows Axcera's Innovator LX DVB-H transmitter. During the conference, Axcera will provide DVB-H signal coverage throughout the conference hall using an Axcera Innovator LX solid-state low power Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) transmitter. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to view multiple real-time video streams using the latest mobile handsets. In addition to the demonstration, David Neff, Axcera’s president and CEO, and WCA board of directors member, will headline the mobile video session entitled “Mobile TV As Today’s Next Great Opportunity,” providing a snapshot of the mobile video industry today and a look into the future market possibilities. According to Richard Schwartz, Axcera’s director of marketing and product management, “The combination of our strong position in the broadband wireless, MMDS and television broadcast industries, along with our leadership position in end-to-end DVB-H system solutions, allow Axcera to bring this emerging technology to wireless operators. Systems can be deployed in frequency bands ranging from 700 MHz through 2.7 GHz, providing these operators with the potential to tap into a new revenue stream never before possible.” Since its formal adoption by the DVB Organization in 2004, there has been growing interest in the use of DVB-H technology for the delivery of high quality video and other services to mobile handsets. Unlike many current mobile multimedia offerings that consume valuable bandwidth resources used for voice and two-way data services, DVB-H networks provide a separate path to the handset, truly enabling the “triple play” in a mobile environment. Axcera offers a full line of low, medium and high power DVB-T and DVB-H transmitters in frequency bands from VHF through 2.7GHz, offering high efficiency, redundancy and excellent MER performance. By packaging these products with IP encapsulators, SFN adapters, satellite transmit and receive equipment, environmental enclosures, transmission line and antennas, and a host of integration services, Axcera can provide the best solution for the needs of virtually any service provider.
