Vodafone 3G Phones Ready for October |

Above shows the Samsung Z105 3G handset. Europe : Vodafone UK aims to launch 3G services for 3G phones in October, 2004. The new 3G service has been branded "Vodafone live! with 3G" by Vodafone. However, as yet no firm date has been set for the full commercial launch. The launch has been scheduled in anticipation of huge Christmas 3G phone sales. It is unclear which 3G phones will be available at the time of launch, but hot contenders would be the Samsung Z105 3G Mobile and / or the Sony Ericsson Z1010. The most likely being the Samsung. The Samsung Z105 3G handset has already been launched on "Vodafone live! with 3G" in Germany and Portugal so it must be the favourite for Vodafone to launch with in the UK. More details on this 3G handset here. In April this year, Vodafone launched the first 3G/GPRS datacard service in the UK via its new 3G network. Currently, "Vodafone live with 3G" covers the following major towns and cities in the UK : London and the area inside the M25, Greater London, Reading, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Portsmouth and Southampton. Rapid expansion is scheduled for the October launch of 3G for phones. |
