Orange have announced a new tariff and a new application which will offer its customers a cheaper and better experience when travelling within the EU.
Orange have firstly released the "Travel Angel" application, which is available to download on Blackberry and Android smartphones. An Apple version is also already in the works and will be released shortly.
Orange's "Travel Angel" application enables Orange customers to track their mobile phone usage while they are abroad.
Additionally, the app will automatically detect which country the user is currently in and will offer them the best roaming deals. Customers can then buy the tariff and monitor their calls, data and text use in real time ensuring they don't overspend or exceed their allowances.
One of the tariffs likely to appear in the Travel Angel app is Orange's new "Combined Bundle" which offers texts, calls and data in one simple tariff. Users travelling within the EU can get 50 minutes, 100 texts and 50MB of mobile data for £15 a month (before August 5th) and for £20 thereafter.
Data Roaming charges and prices have long been an area of complaint for consumers, but the operators were ordered earlier in the year to reduce their prices by the EU Commission. Orange's new changes are just the latest in a long line of improvements across the boards and 3G is happy to finally see customers getting a fairer deal.
