The Google Nexus 7 is hitting the UK on July 19th and its already having a massive effect on the tablet market due to its combination of a low price and high specification.
Apple are thought to have been working on an iPad Mini for some time, which originally was being produced to rival the Amazon Kindle Fire. However, with the Google Nexus 7 now also coming to market it becomes even more important for Apple to respond.
Chinese website MyDrivers are reporting that the Apple iPad will be priced between $250 and $300 (£159 - £190), which would put it in direct competition with the Google Nexus 7 , which is retailing in the UK for £159.
The Apple iPad Mini is expected to have a 7 inch touch-screen produced by Sharp. They will adopt Sharp's IGZO technology which enables screens to be super-thin, while at the same time ensuring amazing image quality and excellent durability.
Apple's iPad Mini is still officially unconfirmed, but it's expected to launch towards the end of 2012. Whatever, the price and whenever it launches the arrival of the Google Nexus 7 is good news for consumers because it'll drive down the price of every other tablet coming to market.
