Vodafone Launches Android Market Channel
![]() |
Vodafone has confirmed that it has launched its own Android Market channel with its own branded content. Vodafone is the first European mobile operator to do so. This does not surprise 3G, however it is a brave move by Vodafone to join the Android bandwagon and rather than have Vodafone apps scattered all over Android Market they can now be found at a single location.
It was only this week that Google confirmed they had achieved over 4.5 Billion App downloads from Android market.
The Vodafone Android Channel will contain their own branded content such as news, sports, gaming apps and up to date information on Vodafone's services.. Its live in the UK currently and the apps will be available to Vodafone customers for free or at a discounted price.
