Nokia N9

The Nokia N9 was announced earlier this year and is the successor to the Nokia N8. The smartphone runs on Nokia's MeeGo operating system which was supposed to be the companies flagship operating system. The news comes from a Kazakhstani retailer who have listed the Nokia N9 launch as  August 19th, which isn't far away at all.

However, since the announce of MeeGo , Nokia have joined forces with Windows to adopt Phone 7 as it's main operating system. However, the development in MeeGo has still been done and the results are a vast improvement on the Symbian operating system.

The "Harmattan" user-interface featured on the Nokia N9 enables you to swipe across the screen to return to your home-screen from anywhere inside your mobile. This unique feature enables the mobile to ship without a physical home-screen button. You also now get three home-screens with separate home-screens for applications, notifications and social networking.

The Nokia N9 has a 3.9 inch touch-screen, 8 mega-pixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and is powered by a 1 GHz processor. Other features include Dolby Digital Plus decoding, Dolby headphone post-processing and NFC support.

The Nokia N9 will be available in a choice of Black, Cyan Or Magenta and in 16GB or 64GB versions.
