Orange HTC Hero Users - Android 2.1 Next Week
Android 2.1, HTC Hero, Orange UK
![]() |
Last week we wrote that the Android 2.1 update for Orange UK HTC Hero users seems to be taking a longer time than usual to get to Orange users even though HTC made it available at the beginning of June.
Some HTC Hero users were so fed up of waiting that they set up a protest group on Facebook to vice their discontent and had over 500 protesters registered.
Today we hear that that the HTC Hero 2.1 Android update for Orange UK customers will become available from 1st August. HTC themselves have apologized to Orange UK customers for the delay and explain that this is mainly due to HTC testing the update across Europe.
The Android 2.1 ( Éclair ) update is pending HTC final approval which is hoped will be given this week by HTC and Orange and then the update can be obtained "over the air" or via the Orange website.
