Google's Android Market is going from strength to strength.

Firstly, Android Market now has 70,000 Apps and has grown rapidly since April this year when the figure stood at 30,000. 3G previously detailed that there were over 160,000 handsets being shipped around the world per day with Google Android as its operating system. The total number of Apps and Games available on Android Market comes in at 94,000.

Secondly, a billion Apps have been downloaded via Android Market . This information comes from AndroLib which focuses on everything to do with Android Apps and produces monthly statistical reports. There is a live counter on AndroLib's website currently showing that 1,080,099,856 downloads have been made.

Looking at the chart above you can see the rise of the number of Apps on Android Market and July seems to be following suit with another impressive addition.
