If you want to use the Transport for London  / Barclays cycle hire scheme in London but your not sure where the nearest cycle hire location is - then life could get a lot easier for you.

A new Android App called "The Cycle Hire Widget" is now available to download for free from Android Market. The cycle scheme actually launches on the 30^th July.

It works by displaying the 3 nearest cycle hire places to you and how far away from them you are. Although this hasn't actually worked in a real life situation, the Cycle Hire Widget is also reported to be able to confirm if cycles are available at these three locations. There is also a flag status system to confirm other criteria such as closed, no cycle spaces available and cycles low.

Sounds a great App to us.
