UK : Vodafone have announced that its customers will be able to access Facebook free for a week commencing on the 24th July. Both mobile customers and mobile broadband customers can benefit from the week long freebie.


This Facebook promotion is the latest in Vodafone’s Free Friday Series, which started in May to launch Vodafone’s flat rate daily 50p mobile internet charge.


The video above, posted by Vodafone, shows the N97 being used to access Facebook and also shows some tips for Mobile Facebook usage.


Customers who have Vodafone mobile broadband, will also benefit and will not be charged for data access when visiting the Facebook site, their data counter will automatically stop when they enter the site.


Vodafone have also confirmed Text alerts from facebook, which will enable users to choose to have notifications, alerts and pokes sent to their mobile via SMS. The system is full configurable and texts will be charged at the standard network rate.


From the 24th singing in at www.facebook.com/mobile will be totally free for a week to all Vodafone customers.
