Flarion's FLASH-OFDM technology will provide Croatian customers the ability to have broadband access and mobility, without the limitations of wires or location. This will allow operators to offer wide area coverage suitable for rural and urban deployments. The average speed of FLASH-OFDM is up to 1 Mbps in the downlink and 300-500 Kbps in the uplink, making the new Retel service ideal for enterprise and residential customers who require broadband access. "With the help of Arbital, Retel is bridging the digital divide with a state-of-the-art mobile broadband network for the people of Zagreb," said Petar Babbic, executive director of Retel. "Arbital is pleased to work with Retel in deploying a next generation network for broadband services in the country of Croatia," said Saw Leng Kooi, executive director of Arbital Communications. "We are also proud to be one of the first in the world to deploy a FLASH-OFDM commercial network for mobile broadband services for IP Mobility Sdn Bhd, formerly known as Ikram Saksama Sdn Bhd, who will be launching services in Malaysia within the next six to nine months." "Mobile broadband access allows individual subscribers and communities the ability to communicate with the world, improving the way people live, work and play," said H. E. Zeljko Cimbur, Croatian Ambassador to Malaysia. "Croatia has taken the necessary steps to make accessible this new broadband technology, by providing access to spectrum and development of a new network," said Y.B. Datuk Seri Dr. Lim Keng Yaik, Malaysian Minister of Energy, Water, and Communications. "Malaysia will also deploy this mobile broadband technology to the rural areas as a last mile solution to offer fast, mobile, and affordable services." "We are proud
to work with Arbital on this groundbreaking effort to bring mobile
broadband services to Croatia," said Michael Gallagher, president
of Flarion Technologies, Inc. "We look forward to a long working
relationship with Arbital, Retel, Croatia and Malaysia." |
