Wireless Corporation announce that it has demonstrated its first Smart
Power Amplifier product designed to significantly increase the efficiency
and linearity of today's power amplifiers. The Company anticipates that
its Smart Power Amplifiers will be available to customers within the
next six weeks.
Ilan Kenig, President of Unity Wireless Corporation stated: "We are proud to have demonstrated what we believe to be one of the most efficient power amplifier in the world. Early feedback from several customers supports our belief that increasing the efficiency and linearity of the power amplifier while also reducing the overall physical size creates a valuable and attractive power amplifier solution for our customers."
Unity's Smart Power Amplifiers are designed to make significant improvements in two important categories: efficiency and linearity. Improvements in efficiency can reduce the wireless network operating costs, while increasing the linearity can improve wireless network performance. Management believes that base stations and repeaters deployed with Smart Power Amplifiers from Unity Wireless can lead to a reduction in the operating expense of wireless service providers, improving their return on investment.
"We have demonstrated a 50% increase in the efficiency of our "Cougar" model 10 Watt W-CDMA single-carrier power amplifier with the new Smart Power Amplifier design. The Output power has also increased from 10 to 15 Watts, while maintaining the performance specifications and spectral emissions mask requirements for 3G (third generation) applications," reported Unity Wireless Corporation's Vice President of Engineering Dr. Nart Bajj. "The Smart Power Amplifier design also generated a 10% improvement in the linearity of our existing "Kodiak" model 25 Watt PCS (second generation) multi-carrier power amplifier."

In doing so, these recent improvements are a testament to Unity's engineering group and their ability to integrate new technologies and deliver commercially marketable products," commented Don Crowson, Chairman of Unity Wireless Corporation's Technical Advisory Board after reviewing the performance characteristics of Unity's Smart Power Amplifiers. Mr. Crowson has over 35 years of industry experience with several large telecommunications research and development organizations, which at one point included responsibility for the coordination of research and development for GTE, now known as Verizon, in Canada.
Smart Power Amplifiers from Unity Wireless offer enhanced performance and improved efficiency versus products currently used in the field. The Company's complete line of power amplifier products for first, second and third generation cellular networks, in addition to its Wireless Local Loop (WLL) and Digital Broadcast Television (DTV) products and Feedforward Linear Power Amplifiers, can be adapted under Unity's Smart Power Amplifier design.
